How the Process Works
Lasting change doesn’t happen by chance - it develops through understanding, repetition, and the right kind of support.
In our work together, we focus on how your mind has learned to think, feel, and respond, and how those patterns can be gently retrained. Because the brain forms habits through repetition, meaningful change usually unfolds over a small number of sessions rather than in a single moment.
In some situations, a single session can be beneficial. This is usually where there is a clear, specific focus or a one-off issue where insight, clarity, or a targeted intervention is needed. A single session can help create a meaningful shift, provide reassurance, or offer a new perspective that feels immediately useful.
For most ongoing issues, people choose to work with me for four sessions for a single focus, allowing new thought patterns and emotional responses the time they need to settle and strengthen.* Sessions can be arranged at a pace that fits your life - weekly, fortnightly, or more flexibly - so progress feels supportive rather than pressured.
For some people, particularly where patterns have been present for a long time or are connected to multiple areas of life, a longer-term approach can be more supportive. An eight-session block allows space to work at a gentler pace, explore deeper layers, and fully integrate change so it feels stable and lasting rather than rushed.
Each session builds on the last. We reflect on the changes you’re noticing, reinforce what’s working, and continue shaping new ways of responding that feel calmer, more aligned, and more in control. I draw from clinical hypnotherapy, coaching, and NLP, adapting the approach to you rather than placing you into a fixed process.
Change works best when it’s something you grow into, rather than something you try to force. Hypnotherapy is a guided, collaborative process where we work together to help your mind learn new, more supportive patterns. Much like retraining a muscle or nurturing new growth, progress happens through engagement, consistency, and allowing space for something different to take shape.
When you approach the process with openness and curiosity, the mind becomes more receptive. With the right conditions in place, new ways of thinking and responding can take root, strengthening over time into habits that feel calmer, more balanced, and genuinely self-directed.
*The number of sessions varies depending on the individual and the goal. Some structured programmes, such as stop smoking, follow a different format.
